Hive Dive

Hive Dive is a StarFox-inspired on-rails shooter. Defend Patagonia from the Aliens! This is a year-long project that is currently in-progress.

Role: In the project, I am taking the role of the design lead, where I prioritize tasks in the project and share our progress with our producer, other leads and stakeholders.

Lead Responsibilities: Since taking on the role of Design Lead, most of my time has been spent on my lead responsibilities. This includes planning and prioritizing sprints with the producer and other leads, reprioritizing the game's scope, and meeting stakeholders. Additionally, I test the game both internally using build reviews and playtesting with external playtesters. Leading a team of designers has been a challenging but rewarding journey, which has not been without any hurdles. But this is a good experience for my future career.


UI/UX: I worked on designing some of the UI elements, some of which were sadly not part of our game due to time constraints. I created icons for the overworld map and the tech tree and worked on the technical implementation of menus.


Goal: Per our assigned brief, we aimed to create a StarFox-inspired on-rails shooter with Roguelite elements set in 2050s Patagonia. We started by researching both on-rail shooter games and games with roguelite elements. Due to time constraints we focussed on the on-rails part without roguelite mechanics.

Research: We researched multiple games, including StarFox and inspired games. What makes them satisfying and good to play? We also researched Patagonion biomes to create exciting environments.

Result: The game will be released on Steam when finished
